Black Man With A Gun Harms No One

by Alan Korwin, Author
Gun Laws of America

I've created a special feature for the print media and broadcasters ("Page Nine" regardless of where or when it runs), that covers stories afresh, not the way news rooms typically flavor things. It would help reduce the distrust so many news consumers feel and could be the most avidly followed item you carry -- if you carry it. It certainly is well received by my audience.

This casual sample might make you say, "We'll NEVER run that!" but Page Nine is being built around ad revenues from clear-thinking mainstream businesses.

The U.S. Dept. of Pizza

In a prior issue I said the U.S. has 3% of the world's population, but is being pressured to reduce its lifestyle as if it's the sole key to saving the planet from global environmental destruction. Meanwhile the rest of the world is not under the Obama cap-and-trade outgassing tax scheme. Current numbers indicate we are 4.65% of the world's people, so only 95.35% of the world won't be paying for the new Obama tax (if it passes). Sorry for the misstatement.

After years of delay, I now have a Model Legislation page up (blue button on our home page). These are laws we need -- to protect gun rights, promote freedom, limit government -- and you can have them introduced in your own state! Read a few, suggest new ones, let your local gun-rights group know about this new resource!

BRAND NEW THIS WEEK: Plain-English gun owner guide for North AND South Dakota! Only $11.95, both states in one book.

Also just out: gun-owner guides for Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina and Ohio:
50-State Traveler's Guide:
Plus -- we've introduced the Armed Response series of self-defense DVDs, truly excellent, take a look:

The Neal Knox autobiographical book has arrived: The Gun Rights War. Years in the making, the best of Neal edited by his son Chris:

"The Constitution doesn't give me the right to go home, get a gun, and come back to shoot you." --Judge Sonia Sotomayor, candidate for the U.S. Supreme Court, in response to a Senate Judiciary question about the Second Amendment. The response from the panel was... nothing. If you ever wondered if these people represent us, it's now clear -- they do not.

Is anyone keeping track of how old Osama Bin Laden is? Haven't heard much about him lately, but since he's only public enemy number one that's not a surprise, eh?

The lamestream media told you:

A man was seen carrying a deadly black high capacity loaded semiautomatic AR-15 assault weapon near president Obama's speech in Phoenix, but was not arrested. Authorities say "it was perfectly legal," leaving observers in shock.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Black Man With Gun Harms No One
Black Man With Gun Harms No One

Obama rally unaffected by one man's civil rights

National media has conniptions, interviews Korwin repeatedly seeking comfort, but gets none.

"Why wasn't that man arrested?" they cry?

"Because he didn't do anything."

"No Guns For Negroes" Documentary exonerated, vindicated, available for free viewing.

Page Nine Special --
Black Man With A Gun! Two guns!

The media nationwide has its panties in a knot because a person showed up at an Obama protest bearing arms and wearing a white shirt and tie. Not just any firearm, but what they like to vilify as an "assault" rifle -- an AR-15 typical household single-shot long gun. But to the media, it’s a menacing black gun. And it was worn by a black man, a fact they tried to hide. I took repeated calls for “news” interviews about this incredible occurrence.

[Learn about the shocking new documentary No Guns For Negroes; blacks are systematically singled out for disarmament, even in this day and age.]

I mentioned to the local NBC-TV affiliate that the media seemed to be avoiding the fact that Chris, the well-known local libertarian with the rifle (and a sidearm), was black. “Well, we’re not supposed to mention race if it’s not a key part of the story.” My eyebrows shot up. “You have a black man with a gun! At a rally for the black president! That’s not relevant?” So she sheepishly admitted, with a chuckle, “Well, that would take away the whole redneck right-wing extremist thing.” This is known in “news” circles as objective reporting.

A lot of people at the rally had guns. About a dozen wore sidearms openly. You’re required to carry openly, that’s the law. There may have been dozens more with government permission slips to carry discreetly, no one can say. And the media doesn’t care about them, because the media's stated concern about the president’s safety is nonsense, a smokescreen. They don’t care about a possible threat like they say they do, and Chris posed none. They care about controversy and appearances, and that includes any gun any time any way. They hate guns. It shows. They wear their hatred on their sleeves.

We all saw that when Chris Mathews got apoplectic, obsessing over William Kostric who wore a sidearm during a similar demonstration in New Hampshire. Perfectly legal, no crimes committed, no one harmed, no victims, just open exercise of the right to keep and bear arms. The “news” man spent eight minutes -- an eternity in national TV time -- trying to make Kostric look radical, but failed miserably. Mathews came off as the radical, practically foaming as he cried gun gun gun gun. See for yourself:

The AP Radio Network reporter who interviewed me about this couldn’t stop asking why the Phoenix man wasn’t arrested. I kept telling her, “He didn’t do anything wrong.” She didn’t get it. Living in D.C. as she does this is no surprise. I told her she’s living in a bubble and doesn’t understand that out here in the U.S., people have guns, use guns, carry guns, buy and sell guns, it’s normal. “The only thing odd about any of this is you and your reaction.” “But why wasn’t he arrested? Don’t you realize the president was there?”

Actually, the president was not there, inside his own protective Secret Service bubble, but that didn’t register either. “Is the AP saying you don’t have your civil rights when the president is around? The right to speak, assemble, keep and bear arms -- these go away out there on the street during a peaceful protest?”

Listen up “news” media, there was no crime committed. No one was hurt. All behavior was perfectly legal. This man was making a point, and by all measures, he made it pretty well. You folks are stuck in a microcosm reality and can't tell.

If you have a right but can’t exercise it, you don’t have that right, right? Chris was exercising a fundamental enumerated right in the Constitution, at EXACTLY the appropriate time. This was a right and proper thing to do.

Let me put it in a metaphor:

The government is getting so far out of control that the farmers are showing up with pitchforks. What else would you expect?

A large segment of the nation can clearly see that the democrats in government, with complicit republicans, are taking over the nation’s economy -- which they have no authority to do. They can’t legally take money from you (taxes are collected by force, you know), and give it to companies that are run poorly. They can’t do that. They have no authority. That’s theft. If government can take your money, and do whatever it wants with it, that’s tyranny. Government without controls. A lot of people, not all but a lot, can see that clear as day.

A main purpose of the Second Amendment is for exactly this -- to prevent government from becoming tyrannical. Remember that here, people are the sovereigns and government is the servant. If that is lost, the Second Amendment is the last recourse the Founders built into the system.

Our government is abandoning the free markets, capitalism and values that made this the richest, most prosperous and most generous nation the world has ever seen. The democrats, since taking control under Mr. Obama, have absorbed the insurance industry, the banks, the car companies, the home mortgage market, and now they’re in a naked power grab for the entire medical business. It’s one straw too many.

They have absolutely no authority in the Constitution to do this. They’re abandoning The American Way and adopting socialism, the arch enemy of The American Way.

Of course people are upset. They have every right, nay, a duty, to show up at political rallies with their pitchforks. And it seems to be working. The politicians are getting the message.

IMPORTANT: We’ve lost sight of the fact that Mr. Obama insisted that this medical takeover bill be voted on immediately after its introduction. Before it could be read. That in itself is tyrannical.

Because that tactic failed, America got a chance to see what’s in the bill. Even his own party objected. It is an obscene threat to our way of life -- a monstrous unconstitutional socialist power grab for our doctors and our medicine. He can’t legitimately do that. Who actually wrote this thing, with its explosion of bureaucracy and unilateral controls? No one can say -- that alone should raise your tyranny-response-team color code.

Government has no business in the medical business. They have no delegated power to do so. And we can guess how it will run -- it will be like Mr. Obama’s unwitting comparison of Fedex, UPS and the post office. The first two (the private American ones) thrive, have short lines if any, get the job done great and you can track every parcel from your own home. The government-run other one has long lines, loses stuff left and right, can’t find anything in transit and is way beyond broke, propped up by government-backed debt. How is government absconding with the medical industry going to be different?

A man peacefully carrying a gun at a protest is just fine (except to gun bigots in newsrooms and untreated hoplophobes). That’s why open carry is legal, and why concealed carry has been outlawed here since statehood in 1912.

Times have changed to where now, with a brainwashed, gun-terrified public, discretion is in order and was "allowed" 14 years ago under a government management permit system. It puts all the FBI-certified innocent good guys in the criminal database for safe keeping.

In traditional America however, “Why would an honest person conceal a gun?” was the question Ben Avery and Sandra Day O’Conner pondered when they wrote our concealed-weapon ban (which by the way, violated our state Constitution and the convention debates from whence it came). The person openly armed poses a much lower threat to you than the person who hides. They understood this.

The affront of a government permission slip -- the popular CCW permit -- was only introduced in 1994, and about 130K have one, around 2% of the public. Yet around 50% of the public owns firearms -- they refuse to beg the government for a grant of permission to exercise their civil rights.

These are alien thoughts back east where the media frenzy is going full blast. And there you have it. It’s not about news, it’s about promoting an agenda: guns are bad, extremists have them, you should be afraid. Omigod, they have guns and aren’t even registered (registration has no crime-fighting component).

Let me tell you something the news totally suppresses. Guns are good. This is the very reason we are armed. Guns save lives. Guns stop crime. Guns keep you safe. Guns keep the president safe. He is surrounded by guns constantly, because it’s the right thing to do. Guns are why America is still free.

Chicago’s WGN couldn’t believe we have the right to keep and bear arms out here. I had to tell them most places have RKBA, a surprise to them in their little cloister. “Do people shoot each other on the streets a lot?” They actually asked that. These folks aren’t in a bubble, they’re in a vacuum, they get nothing. “With your new guns-in-bars law, which has created quite a commotion here in Chicago, are there shootouts in bars?” I'm not making this up.

That law doesn’t take effect until October, but in the many states that have it, no, of course not. People go armed to restaurants all the time and the slow waitresses all live to tell about it. We’re talking about honest decent innocent Americans, not heinous bottom-feeding amoral criminal maggots. They can’t see a difference. "Do you have any shootouts?" he asks. Yes -- in the drug-gang infested bad parts of town where our illegal aliens hide. Just like your town -- crime is largely a socio-economic, demographic and especially geographic issue. See the maps.

The lamestream “news” has suppressed gun issues so thoroughly their audiences can’t imagine people could keep and bear arms peacefully, safely, responsibly, and not just commit murder on a daily basis. They conflate guns with crime, and have no other image -- they live in a fantasy world perpetrated by forces of darkness.

I tried to show the extent of the propagandizing they suffer under. The top three consumer sports for 2008, based on retail sales, are exercise, shooting sports and golf. You see two of those plenty, but have you seen any stories on the #2 consumer sport in the nation? Not a peep. Why is that? Do you think that has an effect on a well-informed public? You betcha. And it hurts this nation severely.

A Chicago caller to the show asks, “Well do you carry your golf clubs or exercise equipment into a restaurant?” This imbecile actually thinks he’s making sense. Gun ignorance has so blinded him, this is how he uses his 30 seconds of fame. I tell him of course I don’t. So he concludes, “See, you’re full of baloney,” and hangs up. He’s not even thinking rationally, and is convinced he’s right. Does he even know what the shooting sports are? I don't think so.

WGN mentions that in Chicago, NYC, and DC, where the major news orgs are based, this black-man-with-a-black-gun thing strikes them as stunning. Coincidentally these three cities are among the most repressive civil rights deniers in the nation -- and they have the gun-crime records to show for it. Guns are virtually banned for the innocent, yet armed criminals run around at will. But they cannot connect the dots.

So let me ask them. “Why aren’t the people who stole your rights arrested?”

2- False Gun Search

The lamestream media told you:

Federal agents hunt for guns, one house at a time.
by Dane Schiller, Houston Chronicle

In front of a run-down shack in north Houston, federal agents step from a government sedan into 102-degree heat and face a critical question: How can the woman living here buy four high-end handguns in one day?

The house is worth $35,000. A screen dangles by a wall-unit air conditioner. Porch swing slats are smashed, the smattering of grass is flattened by cars and burned yellow by sun.

"I'll do the talking on this one," agent Tim Sloan, of South Carolina, told partner Brian Tumiel, of New York.

Success on the front lines of a government blitz on gunrunners supplying Mexican drug cartels with Houston weaponry hinges on logging heavy miles and knocking on countless doors. Dozens of agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — sent here from around the country — are needed to follow what ATF acting director Kenneth Melson described as a "massive number of investigative leads."

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Promoted with an incendiary headline from Matt Drudge, the firearms community got all bent out of shape by this Chronicle story, falsely terrified of door-to-door searches for personal firearms. Sorry to disappoint, but this was much ado over nothing.

This is what's called good police work. Gun smuggling for drug cartels is not supported by the firearms community, and when blatant evidence of such activity appears, this is where good police work comes into play. That's the case here.

3- NICS Numbers Grow

The lamestream media told you:

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Data released by the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) reported 968,145 checks in June 2009. This figure is an 18.1 percent increase from the 819,891 reported in June 2008.

The June increase follows a 15.4 percent rise in May and increases of 30.3 percent in April, 29.2 percent in March, 23 percent in February, 28 percent in January, 24 percent in December and 42 percent in November when a record 1,529,635 background checks were performed.

Background checks for the first six months of 2009 totaled 7,035,286, a 24.48 percent increase over the 5,651,584 for the same period for 2008. The total number of background checks reported since the beginning of NICS (1998) is 103,019,294.

The lamestream media has been claiming for years and years there are about 200 million guns in America. With about 100 million sold in just the past decade, even the brain dead can tell the media is just parroting a number without doing any research. At the very least, they should up the numbers from time to time, no? (The same problem exists with illegal immigrant counts, where the 12-million-illegals figure stood for seven years, despite one million new illegals sneaking in annually through 2008.)

Thanks to the National Shooting Sports Foundation for doing the legwork on the NICS counts, so I didn't have to.

4- Tzars Overrunning America

The lamestream media told you:

Obama has appointed a car czar to handle the automobile companies the government took over.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Tzars are helatious tyrannical dictators detested the world over, and most were ousted or killed early last century. As of July 1st -- all beholden solely to Mr. Obama -- America is now infested with these unregulated pests, and the media just blandly reports that a few new ones have come on board.

1. Technology Czar: Aneesh Chopra.
2. Drug Czar: Gil Kerlikowske
3. Copyright Czar: Not appointed yet. .
4. Energy Czar: Carol M. Browner
5. Car Czar: Ed Montgomery.
6. Terrorism/WMD Czar: Gary Samore.
7. Health Care Czar: Nancy-Ann DeParle.
8. Education Czar: Not appointed yet.
9. Economic Czar: Paul Volcker.
10. Mortgage Czar: Not appointed yet.
11. Urban Affairs/Housing Czar: Adolfo Carrion.
12. Guantanomo closure Czar: Danny Fried.
13. Great lakes Czar: Cameron Davis.
14. Stimulus accountability Czar: Earl Devaney.
15. Cyberspace Czar: Not appointed yet.
16. Border Czar: Alan Bersin (Former US attorney).
17. Intelligence Czar: Admiral Dennis Blair.
18. Regulatory Czar: Cass Sunstein.
19. Pay Czar: Kenneth Feinberg
20. Iran Czar: Not appointed yet.
21. TARP Czar: Herb Allison.
22. Middle-East peace Czar: George Mitchell.
23. Science Czar: John Holdren.
24. Green jobs Czar: Van Jones.
25. Afghanistan Czar: Richard Holbrooke.
26. Sudan Czar: J. Scott Gration.
27. Mideast policy Czar: Dennis Ross.
28. Information Czar: Vivek Kundra.
29. AIDS Czar: Jeffrey Crowley.
30. Faith-based Czar: Joshua Dubois.
31. Climate Czar: Todd Stern.

INSIDER STUFF: This from a ranking Republican in the machinery, preliminary to a statement about tzars you may be seeing soon:

"...There is a shift in government operating philosophy the Obama Administration has implemented without any Congressional action... The czars may be an effort to completely circumvent the cabinet secretaries who are still somewhat accountable to Congress because of the appropriation and authorization process. There does not seem to be any accountability for whatever action the czars take...

"It seems to me that Obama and his advisors realize they can't spend all of the money they have authorized or implement the changes they want through the normal Congressional/authorization process. Therefore they have built an alternate government made up of czars to distribute the money. What we are being told is that the czars are contacting the states to make sure the money is being used properly...

"However, early indications are that the czars are contacting states and local supporters of Obama. This smells like the worst kind of political cronyism and will probably result in corruption and waste of tax dollars on a scale that is completely impossible to get a handle on and do any kind of legal enforcement on; as they have done in Chicago for decades, we are now doing as a nation."

Let's hope someone in the system has the cojones to make such a statement.

While some in the "news" media and other pundits are indignantly asking, "What's with all the tzars?" none are calling for an end to the tzarist era, arrest of anyone acting as a tzar, or dismantling the growing tzarist networks of power. Stop tzars now. Tzars are unAmerican and should be banished. Anyone supporting tzars and their exercise of power should be socially ostracized. Don't question tzars. Excise them.

5- Special Guest Columnist Craig Cantoni

Nationalized pizza three years later

(Washington - 2013) The Obama administration's promises about the benefits of nationalizing the pizza industry have not materialized. Since the industry was nationalized three years ago, Americans are facing pizza shortages, pizzas in only one size and topping, and pizzas that taste like the cardboard box they come in.

When announcing the pizza program in 2010, President Obama had promised that pizza prices would fall, pizza quality would rise, and there would be universal access to pizza. "After all," he had said in his typical all-knowing manner that Americans have come to hate, "the pizza industry is much simpler than the medical industry, which we completely nationalized last year."

Before pizza was nationalized, virtually every American, whether rural or urban, rich or poor, white or black, or a race somewhere in between, could order a pizza customized to their liking and have it delivered hot to their door in about 45 mins. Now, in the rare cases where someone actually answers the phone at one of the government's regional pizza kitchens, it takes six hours on average for a pizza to be delivered.

The cost of the standard 12-inch pizza is $140, or a 20-fold increase in three years. Half of the increase is due to the skyrocketing inflation caused by the president's stimulus spending in 2009. A dollar now buys only half as much as it did back then.

Moreover, pizzas are now being delivered by bicycle in rural areas and by mass transit in urban areas, due to the president's climate laws, which have made gasoline unaffordable for the typical delivery person. Although delivery personnel in Minnesota replace the front tires of their bikes with skis in winter and put snow chains on the rear tires, pizzas still arrive at customers' doors frozen solid. In the summer in Arizona, pizzas leave the government pizza kitchen uncooked and cook along the way.

The Federal Department of Pizza is now bigger than the Department of Agriculture. Thousands of central planners have discovered that without the magic of market price signals, it's impossible to coordinate all of the variables involved in getting a pizza to someone's door.

Hundreds of Pizza Dept. employees try to determine months ahead who will order a pizza, at what time, on what day, and for what address. Hundreds of other employees then calculate how much flour, cheese, tomato sauce, and cardboard should be delivered to the regional pizza kitchens. Once this is determined, the information is sent with the Pizza Division of the Department of Labor, so that the kitchens have enough employees when they need them. Due to ongoing computer glitches, the pizza kitchens are fully staffed on Monday mornings but have a skeleton staff on Friday nights. During the last Super Bowl, the kitchens were shut down because no employees showed up for work.

The pizza forecasts are also sent to the Department of Agriculture, which has to tell farmers how much wheat and tomatoes to grow, cheese makers how much cheese to produce, and box makers how many boxes to make. The Department of Transportation also has to be notified to have 18-wheeler trucks available to deliver the goods to the pizza kitchens. It's to no avail, however, because the Department of Energy is still trying to develop battery-powered trucks to replace the trucks that were banned by the EPA for having internal combustion engines.

Clandestine pizza operations have sprung up across the land, and anchovies are even being snuck into the country from Portugal in travelers' suitcases. Customs personnel at New York's JFK Airport recently walked off the job after one Customs agent opened a suitcase and cracked open his head on the counter when he passed out from the stench.

The Justice Department has started a War on Pizza to shut down the clandestine operations, but this has just shifted the problem to Mexico. The Mexican government is on the verge of collapsing, due to the violence and corruption of Mexican pizza cartels who sneak contraband pizzas into the United States. Vinnie Rodriguez is said to be the kingpin of pizza in Mexico. Someone in Cleveland can order a pizza from Vinnie in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and have it delivered piping hot with the toppings of his choice in a tenth of the time it takes a government pizza kitchen to fill an order for a cardboard pizza.

President Obama's popularity has dropped to five percent, showing that Americans can tolerate having their medical care screwed up by the government but not their pizza.

As usual, your Page 9 is not only interesting, it is clearly written, and very convincing that true American values, principles, and laws are under attack, and that there are valid responses that we must continue to publish and promote.

In No. 67 I particularly liked the collection of comments related to the cap-and-trade tax bill that demonstrate the liberal view that the ends (no matter how ideologically stupid and detrimental to the American citizen/taxpayer) justify the means (no matter how unethical, illegal or false they are). --Charlie R.
